Errol
and Irma Seymour, the business founders and owners, are passionate
about the quality and health benefits of their
products, as well as caring for their farm environment.
Errol had a long career in senior management with a large oil and
gas company before "retiring" to become
Managing Director of
Drover's Rest. His three engineering degrees, including a PhD from
Harvard University, seem to reflect interests far removed from
organic farming! Perhaps this is explained by the fact that Errol
spent his early childhood years on his parents dairy farm in the
South West of Western Australia before moving to Perth.

Errol and Irma spend a good proportion of their valuable time in
increasing the biodiversity on their property with landscaping and
forest regeneration. This was recognised by the award of a
National Landcare Award from
Landcare Australia to Drover's Rest in 2005.
In 2008, Errol and Irma received the Merit
Award in the farmer category in the
National EMS Association Awards for their environmental
management system.
They are particularly fond of their happy resident kangaroo
population plus prolific and tuneful bird life.
Errol and Irma employ local people, many of them young, doing their first
job. This support for regional employment in an inland
farming region where employment is traditionally low, was recognised
as a significant factor in the award of a Federal Government
Regional Partnership grant to assist with finance for the factory.
